Although not usually a fan of Gerard Henderson and his writings, this one is interesting if for no other reason than it calls on the Australian media – and the ABC in particular – to provide a more balanced reporting of the sexual abuse issue facing the Catholic Church in Australia. I, for one, would welcome a more nuanced and less sensationalised presentation of this very serious matter so that it can be faced fearlessly and things put in place to make it as rare in the life of the Church as it is humanly possible to do so.
