Review: The Spirituality of Diocesan Priests: Bearers of the Incarnate Face of God

The Spirituality of Diocesan Priests: Bearers of the Incarnate Face of God by Frank Devoy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

From time to time you can come across a book that so captures your attention that you can’t put it down. This book by Frank Devoy is one such book!

Although not large in terms of the number of pages, this book contains so much wisdom and insight that I found myself reading through the pages one by one, almost driven to find out what was coming next, genuinely engaged with the topic because it is both so relevant and timely.

In proposing a model for the spirituality of diocesan priests that is REALL – Relational, Existential, Authentic, Life-giving communion, and Liturgical – Devoy creates a fundamental framework around which each and every diocesan priest can subsequently add and build those things that allows him to be truly who he is called to be before God.

For any diocesan priest – and for any parishioner who wishes to support their priest – this book makes for essential reading.
