Review: Celebrating Initiation: A Guide for Priests

Celebrating Initiation: A Guide for PriestsCelebrating Initiation: A Guide for Priests by Paul Turner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As Paul Turner often does he brings his considerable intellect and insight into the pastoral application of liturgy, this time focussing on the various Rites of Initiation of the Catholic Church. Starting with the ritual books and documents Turner explores and elucidates how these rites might be best celebrated, suggesting options and possibilities for the priest – to whom the book is directed – to consider depending upon the particular circumstances of the parish and people.

The Rites of Initiation – RCIA, Baptism & Confirmation – are fundamental to the life of the Church, and indeed are at the very heart of the Church’s reason for existence.

This book is a must-have and must-read for all priests, particularly parish priests.
