Review: Ragnarok

RagnarokRagnarok by Christopher Nuttall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A satisfactory conclusion to the Twilight of the Gods series, with a few shocks along the way to what would be considered the expected outcome.

The ongoing struggle between two separate parts of the Greater German Empire has devolved into madness and nuclear war, while the primary protagonists face their own particular armageddon.

The picture of the late 1980s painted by Nuttall, dominated by the still extant Nazi-inspired Germanies, is truly a frightening one, and the Author’s Notes included in this third and last volume of the series provides a wonderful insight into the thinking behind the author’s sketchings.

A wonderful series that prompted – and answered – more than a few questions.
