Turning Down the Heat

A very interesting and disturbing opinion piece on The Guardian website from former Greens Senator Scott Ludlam, in which, drawing on the popular though apparently mythical imagery of frogs and boiling water, he critiques and condemns both the increasing militarisation of Australia – witness the advent of Border Force – and the erosion of civil liberties – witness the proposed legislation before the Australian Parliament which will negatively impact on the way in which Australian charities are able to engage in public advocacy.

It is an article well worth reading, and well worth reflecting on.
