Writing for The Guardian, Greg Jericho takes a look at the proposed cuts to personal income tax announced in last week’s Federal Budget, summing it up with these words:

But I guess one reason their tax plan is so full of holes is that the government’s real election strategy is not to talk about tax or the economy, but to attack Bill Shorten.

This week we saw government ministers attempting to be even dumber versions of Donald Trump by taking to calling Shorten Shifty Bill, and where Scott Morrison was repeatedly calling him “unbelievaBill”.


Unfunded and uncosted tax proposals and kindergarten-level name calling.

So much for the Liberal party heeding Malcolm Turnbull’s pledge to “respect the intelligence of the Australian people”.
