I didn’t realise I had purchased this Apostolic Letter from Pope Francis. I was shocked to discover that it was on the (physical) ‘to read’ shelf of my bookcase. I was even further shocked to discover it is now close to two years old.
Written at the close of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis calls all who read this letter to continue to live and celebrate and embrace God’s mercy, the unconditional and gratuitous gift that God offers to humanity.
Two years on from the Year of Mercy, it was a fortuitous time for me to read this letter, and to be reminded that God’s mercy is not restricted to one year alone randomly selected, but is always offered by a God who wishes humanity to know God loves them.
