Homilies: 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B

My homily for the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year B) as preached during the 9.30am Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hamilton. The readings were Deuteronomy 6:2-6; Hebrews 7:23-28; Mark 12:28-34.

“Jesus turns the question asked by the scribe into a challenge to mere adherence in the external forum. True faith is not to be found solely in keeping the law or engaging in sacrifices and temple worship but in the love of God and the love of neighbour.”
